FCT group Tool Making – Running like Clockwork
Mr. Peter Tremmel, team leader of the FCT group tool construction department (HQs Munich) can undoubtedly confirm that; he manages more than 400 machines currently used by FCT.
The precision degrees required during the tool’s manufacturing, revision and repairing go into the hundredths. These high precision requirements are achieved by high-tech erosion machines which fissure the tiniest particles during the manufacturing process. One electrode is led to the tool until igniting a spark which spotted melt open and evaporate the metal.
The challenges get more demanding when designing the tool anew as it is essential to realize optimization for the future manufacturing processes, current technology know-how and long endurance up to 1,0 million moulding cycles of each tool.
Performing this task in the shortest of processing time has become rather a routine for Mr. Peter Tremmel.
