Our "Stamped Signal Contacts” are manufactured and assembled using sophisticated automated equipment in to D-Sub Connectors to achieve high levels of precision for coplanarity ≤0,1mm.
Our SMT(Surface Mounted Technology) and THR(Through Hole Reflow) D-Sub Connectors were specifically developed by FCT to be used in fully automatic assembling and soldering operations. A fully automatic insertion of FCT D-Sub Connectors for PCB assembly is realized by "Pick & Place” technology. FCT’s SMT & THR D-Sub Connectors have a "suction area” above the Connectors center of gravity and thus are designed in a way that the vacuum clam of the "Pick & Place” automatic machine can lift them up safely and position them precisely.
FCT’s SMT & THR D-Sub Connectors are delivered as standard in tape "Tape & Reel” packaging. Additionally, the temperature rating of FCT’s SMT & THR D-Sub Connectors is 260° C for 10 seconds for use during reflow-soldering operations. Of course, all FCT D-Sub Connectors are RoHS compliant.
The benefits of being able to use a fully automated board stuffing process in place of traditional hand assembly along with improvements in selective plating, make FCT’s SMT & THT D-Sub Connectors a favorably priced option for applications involving medium and high volumes.
